Brock McIntoch - Director

Normal IL - Brock McIntosh is an Army National Guard veteran who enlisted in May, 2006 while in high school. His views are his own and do not represent those of the Army National Guard or any other branch of the United States military. He was the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his basic training/AIT cycle and continued his development as a soldier with an Afghanistan deployment from November, 2008 to August, 2009. Following his redeployment home, Brock reflected deeply on his experiences and research and decided to act upon the Army value that meant the...

Bryan Reinholdt - Treasurer

Lexington KY - Bryan enlisted in the Army Reserves following high school graduation in 1999. After completing training for the 68x MOS, Apache helicopter electrical and armament systems, he returned to his Reserve duty station in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Despite being disillusioned by the Reserve system and its readiness, his unit (8/229 Aviation Regiment) deployed under the 42nd Infantry Division in 2004. The deployment in support of O.I.F. III shed light on the operational function of the unit and its corresponding companies, but the experience also...

Joyce Wagner's picture

Joyce Wagner - Chair

Pittsburgh PA - Joyce served as a Marine from 2002-2008 and was the first woman in her shop, and one of the first women marines to serve at Camp Korean Village in Western Iraq in 2004. After experiencing and witnessing gross inequity amongst service members based on gender, sexuality, and race, she could no longer see the military as a force that could "free" anyone. She completed her contract and was honorably discharged from the IRR in September of 2009. She holds a BA in Cultural Studies and Visual Art (with a concentration on the Middle East and Women'...

Wendy Barranco's picture

Wendy Barranco - Director

Los Angeles CA - Wendy Barranco was born in a small town in Morelos, Mexico. She migrated illegally to Los Angeles at the age of four. Growing up in a poor and Hispanic community, the military influence was great as it could be seen by the recruiters roaming her high school halls. At the age of 17, with the authorization of her mother, she enlisted as a combat medic in the US Army. In October 2005, she deployed to Tikrit, Iraq and spent nine months overseas as an anesthesia technician. Upon her honorable discharge after three years in the service, she returned...
