Sponsored by Bradley Manning Support Network and Iraq Veterans Against the War Why we Support Bradley Manning In the lead up to Bradley Manning's trial on Saturday June 1st, activists are coming together to show their support of whisleblower Manning who has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize for his truth telling actions. In spring of 2010 Bradley Manning, a 22-year-old Army intelligence analyst, supplied WikiLeaks with classified military documents including the Collateral Murder video, which shows the killing of unarmed civilians and two Reuters journalists by a U.S. Apache helicopter crew in Iraq, as well as the Afghan War Diaries and the Iraq War Logs, and a series of US diplomatic cables. The documents and videos he released to Wikileaks has illuminated the true number and cause of civilian casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan, human rights abuses by the U.S., U.S. contractors and foreign militaries, and the role that spying and bribes play in international diplomacy. Bradley believes that the American people have a right to know the truth about what our government does around the world in our name. "Hopefully worldwide discussion, debates, and reforms...I want people to see the truth... because without information, you cannot make informed decisions as a public,” Manning stated in an online chat. We the People must send a message to the military prosecuting authority, and President Obama, that we support Bradley Manning! Save the Date!
