SAMIR HAMEL
My name is Joseph Hamel. I am from Surprise, Arizona. As a US Army disabled veteran, I enjoy helping other veterans, as I understand their pain and the pressure that the society exposes on the disabled Vet. My major involvement can be seen through volunteering. For example, I assist and help at my local VA hospital and several VA clinics. This year I have graduated from Ottawa University majoring in Bachelor Health Care Management. With no doubt, I decided to attain MBA in leadership and finance, as I find these spheres interesting and beneficial regarding obtained knowledge and skills for helping those in need. I am a family person, married to my beautiful wife, Sonia. So far, we have three beautiful girls. Our oldest seven-year-old Sabrina, five-year-old Serene and the latest new addition Sara, who is only thirteen months old.
As for my military career and background, I served in several Middle Eastern Countries. My major involvement was in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. However, which include the deployment in Kuwait, Iraq, and Qatar. My major responsibilities included assisting and helping with Mortuary Affairs. As a chaplain assistant, I taught the soldiers about the Middle Eastern culture, which is unique in a variety of ways. Besides, I partook on transitioning the soldiers, who were coming back from R&R to combat mission mode. My background also extends to being a reservist in the United States Army. In the civilian this time, I worked in banking and insurance industry for about 20 years. My first attempts at finance were connected with Moroccan American Organization. However, I never forget about volunteering and driving members of the community to vote.
