Larry Anthony

Well, I really dont have much to say. I am a two time Vet. I served in the U.S. Navy from 1992-1996 and had a seven year break in service before enlisting in the Texas Army National Guard in 2003. I was deployed to Iraq in November of 2005 and shipped to Ft. Hood in February 2006 to meet up with my unit for training that I was going to be attached to for the deployment. Air support. I was a 15G, Aviation Structural Technician. Mobilized to Kuwait in August of 2006 and in theater in Iraq of that same month. I was injured in December of 2006 with a broken angle and ordered on convalescent leave. That is when I saw the reality of war. Young soldiers with their faces hanging off their head, Marines with shrapnel in their bodies that couldnt be removed and suffering from cronic migraines. Soldiers on life support, missing limbs and what have you. I already my misgivings but that was the nail in the coffin for me. I was already going through other personal dilemmas but the stress from Iraq added to it. There were times that I had break downs and I hospitalized myself to cope with all that was affecting my life that I came home too.
