With having spent nearly half a decade deployed to the Middle East and becoming more familiar with its roads and culture then that of my home, I have found myself at times lost of my existence in society back home. As a leader I had hoped that I'd come to understand the intricacies of war and peace both for myself and for my soldiers, but in fact it became only much more grey and red beyond my comprehension. It is in this forum and my limited connections to fellow service members that I am able to stay grounded at times. I find it imperative to that what has transpired in the regions we've been deployed to in an effort to protect and defend does not continue to get obscured by lies and needless death of the innocent. And lastly but not least that those that of selflessly committed themselves in the past present and future are heard, understood and acknowledged by our nation and leaders and not ignored or forgotten about!
