Shawna Foster is a veteran of the US National Guard where she served as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Weapons Specialist. She now organizes with Iraq Veterans Against The War. She made her decision to desert after she realized that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the US Army reassigned her MOS to truck driver. She also saw her friends get their combat pay slashed while no-bid military contracts were awarded to Blackwater for the same job.
She is currently the IVAW Board Chair, term 2014-2015.
