Mission and Goals
The mission of IVAW is to mobilize the military community to withdraw its support for the wars and occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. To achieve its mission, IVAW emphasizes three distinct goals:
Immediate Withdrawal
Immediate withdrawal of all occupying forces in Iraq and Afghanistan
Reparations
Reparations for the human and structural damages suffered in Iraq and Afghanistan so that the peoples there might regain their right to self-determination.
Full Benefits
Full benefits, adequate healthcare (including mental health), and other supports for returning servicemen and women.
Iraq Veterans Against the War has also passed resolutions opposing the war in Afghanistan, , the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, and the occupation of Gaza, and in support of non-violence, immigrant rights, and the prosecution of the Bush administration for war crimes.
