Deepak Chopra Shows You Up

Every once in a while I read something that I feel encompasses so much of how I feel in a manner more eloquent than I ever could express.

I share this article by Michelle Haimoff hoping that will you will read all of it.

This is an in depth interview with Deepak Chopra after being accused of being anti-patriotic for daring to question the real roots of terrorism.

There are multiple, too many in fact, parts of this I'd like to highlight. The one I find most important is the only one I'll do so for.

Deepak says "based on the survey, the cause of terrorism is "a rage that comes from humiliation, lack of respect, and also from factors that we are unaware of, generally uneducated about."

What brought the accusation of "blaming America first" were his equating "Shock and Awe" to terrorism.

If we as a country were angry, felt disrespected and humiliated from the terrible acts of 9/11 is it so odd to think that innocent people who have bombs dropped on them won't also be willing to turn from moderates to fundamentalists, from fundamentalist to terrorists?

I was at first taken aback that Deepak Chopra had such an understanding of both history and the present. I mean, isn't he about yoga, medicine and some other stuff I thought was not at all related to foreign policy?

But in fact when we look at his words he starts from a place of love and understanding, one that seeks peace.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck had the nerve to make a racist, uncultured remark that Deepak should "go light some incense". With the level of understanding and clarity Deepak surprised me with maybe Elizabeth should bath in some incense, then rebuild that glass house with one made of incense.

Full interview with Deepak by Michelle Haimoff as well as both Deepak and Gotham response's linked to at the bottom.
