After 2 deployments aboard an aircraft carrier in support of the Iraq War I had doubts on it's legitimacy from the beginning. Not finding any weapons of mass destruction just made my doubts grow more. After listening to stories told by other veterans equipment shortages as well as speaking with my fellow vets about their experiences I became angry. After reading about the lack of care our wounded vets received (or didn't receive)and the living conditions of the Iraqis themselves, I know that this war had to end, so I got involved. Our leaders talk about honor. No serviceman minds going to war but it should always be for the right reasons. We aren't mercenaries. We have a code of honor. Our leaders in Washington, however, showed no honor at all when we invaded Iraq. |
