I served in the US Air Force from 1994-2003 as a Personnel Specialist. I decided to separate at the end of my contract for several reasons, specifically out of opposition against the invasion of Iraq. I also wanted to live openly as a lesbian and did not want to continue serving in the closet. I am proud of my military service and I continue to be proud of my service as a member of IVAW.
