Brooklyn Peace Fair: May 7th at Brooklyn College

The seventh annual Brooklyn Peace Fair will be held Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 12 to 5 PM at Brooklyn College. This year's theme is "War, Military Budget, and the Economy". More information can be found here on the Brookyln for Peace website:           http://www.brooklynpeace.org/brooklynforpeace/committees/peace-fair/index.htm

As a co-sponsor of the fair, IVAW will be conducting workshops on War and the Environment and the Needs of Returning Veterans. We will be highlighting war-related environmental issues like depleted uranium and military fuel usage with the help of d.u. expert Dr. Tom Fasy. Also, Earth Day New York will be discussing the need to transfer from a military economy to a green and sustainable economy. The Veterans' Needs Workshop presents a great opportunity for IVAW to promote Operation Recovery, as well as addressing concerns about cuts to the VA.

IVAW will need members in attendance in order to make the Peace Fair a success. Please consider going and contact me, [email protected] , if you are interested in attending or participating in one of the panels. You don't need any previous experience. I have no experience either!
