Veterans Day: A Week of Outreach Nov. 8th - 15th
Operation Recovery is fighting to stop the deployment of traumatized troops, and by doing so, end the occupations. The Campaign is in the popular research and base building phase. During this phase we will be doing consolidated outreach to GIs and Veterans, submitting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, surveying GIs and Veterans about the issue, and compiling the facts to build our case.
To win this struggle, hundreds of IVAW Members, Veterans, Service Members, and Allies are needed to help organize.Service Members and Veterans are in our communities and looking to be part of a community of people that understands them. This is why the Campaign Team and active Chapters from across the nation are starting an effort to do regular outreach on and around military bases and universities.
The week of Veterans Day, November 8th - 15th, the Campaign Team is focusing on supporting outreach efforts at strategic locations and Operation Recovery Teach-ins. The Campaign Team has commitments from members doing outreach at four active duty bases and other strategic locations with large veteran populations, such as Universities. Many of these members are also organizing Operation Recovery Teach-ins to educate Service Members, Veterans, and allies about the issues of deploying traumatized troops and about our campaign to end the egregious practice and end the occupations.
