National Lawyers Guild speaking event

On October 23rd, the National Lawyers Guild student chapter at CU Law hosted
Graham Clumpner of IVAW at a lunch speaking event to talk about Operation
Recovery and the role of legal professionals in GI rights and resistance. Graham
went into the details of his deployments and training, explaining how he made the
transition to resist his IRR Recall, the impact of his traumatic brain injury, and the
lack of mental health resources in the military. He
also explained how the Obama administration has failed to prioritize mental health and continues to
deploy traumatized troops to war zones. He then
outlined the activities of Operation Recovery, their main targets, and how law
students can get involved. The event was concluded with a lively Q-and-A session,
which engaged many participants. Feedback after the event was very positive, and
we can't wait to have IVAW come back for another event next semester!
